Saddle Up for a Maui Horseback Riding Adventure at Mendes Ranch

One of the best ways to experience the natural beauty of Hawaii is by horseback riding in Maui.  Luckily, Mendes Ranch offers guided trail rides taking you into the valley of the West Maui Mountains.

Your experience at Mendes Ranch can begin in the morning or afternoon, as they offer 8am and 12pm excursion times.  Both tours are exactly the same, so pick the one that suites your vacation style.  Upon arrival at the Ranch, located in picturesque Wailuku, you’ll head to the Mendes Ranch Corral where you’re greeted by real Paniolos (Hawaiian cowboys).   The Paniolos will pair you with a steed specifically selected for your riding experience level.
Once you’re paired with a beautiful horse, you’re journey begins.  You’ll ride through scenic rolling pastures and into lush rain forest, and have the opportunity to gaze into Eki Crater to view some of Maui’s largest waterfalls.

From there, your fully narrated ride descends down the mountain, taking you to historic Hawaiian taro patches and quaint plantation homes.  Sauntering ahead, you’ll make your way to Waihe’e Valley and the crystal blue waters of the Pacific Ocean.  Be sure to bring your camera as the stunning seascape is the perfect place to snap a shot of your Mendes Ranch experience, and a Paniolo will be glad to the honors.  They can also take photos of you along the way, creating a wonderful way for you to remember your Hawaiian cowboy adventure.  The trail ride concludes with fantastic vistas of Haleakala and Central Maui, before you trot back to the Ranch on your trusty steed.

riding by the ocean or in the mountains on a horse would be a good time no matter what time of day you choose to do it...
